The Canada Goose Chateau jacket is absolutely great. I work outside a lot and it can be really cold, sometimes reaching -35 degrees, with strong winds, and the coat really does protect you. I especially like the hood. It has the coyote fur ruff around the outside of the hood and I noticed how much the ruff protected my face, especially from the biting wind. The same goes for the cuffs on the sleeves. They are quite snug around the wrists and this stops the snow from getting inside. There is nothing worse than wet wrists, it’s so uncomfortable. The pockets are great as well. They are big and lined with fleece so they keep your hands really warm and there are other pockets inside the jacket that are handy for carrying things around.
I have to mention how stylish the jacket is as well. The jacket is quite a slim fit and it doesn’t look all ‘puffy.’ It’s a very modern jacket and as I often have to meet clients I like the fact the jacket looks smart and I never feel under dressed when I’m wearing it. It’s also thigh length which of course helps to keep your thighs warm as well. The sizing is also spot on. I didn’t need to get a bigger size than usual as Canada Goose seem to allow for the fact you may be wearing a heavy jumper underneath the coat.check http://bluejacketsxtra.dispatch.com/content/blogs/puck-rakers/2014/08/forecast-no.-11-matt-calvert.html today!
I have always bought Canada Goose jackets because I don’t think there is any other better insulator than goose down, but I must say the Chateau jacket is my favourite. Another point worth mentioning is the fact it’s waterproof. That’s a great bonus when it’s icy rain and wind biting at you. Even the fur stayed relatively dry and it didn’t freeze either. I once owned a coat with a fur trim on the hood and it used to freeze if it got wet or covered in snow. This ruff doesn’t freeze, so another plus to the Chateau jacket.
Oh, and it’s worth mentioning that the coat didn’t make me sweat either when the temperature warmed up a few degrees, so it’s possible to wear the jacket for quite a few months of the year. The coat also folds easily as it’s not bulky and that’s great if you want to take the jacket off when you are in the car for example. I’m not a fan of heavy jackets, which is another point worth mentioning. The jacket doesn’t feel heavy when I’m wearing it so I don’t get uncomfortable.
It’s amazing really that it’s filled with goose down and yet it’s so lightweight. There are also quite a few color options to choose from. I have a black one, but my brother has a redwood color jacket and that also looks very stylish. My last Canada Goose jacket lasted me a good few years, so I am hoping the Chateau will last the same amount of time as well. It makes the jacket good value for money if it keeps you warm and doesn’t get ruined in our extreme weather conditions.
