Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums
The Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA) is a nonprofit organization that promotes animal welfare and encourages the advancement of education, conservation and science. Its 26 members – Canada’s accredited zoos and aquariums – nurture, protect and care for more than 100,000 animals representing 2000 species. Each year, CAZA institutions provide millions of Canadians with a link to the natural world through educational and outreach programs based on their animal collections. They also provide knowledge about issues connected with preserving biodiversity, environmental protection, habitat preservation and species survival.

Parks Canada
On behalf of the people of Canada, Parks Canada protects and presents nationally significant examples of Canada's natural and cultural heritage, and fosters public understanding, appreciation and enjoyment in ways that ensure their ecological and commemorative integrity for present and future generations.

Each national park and national marine conservation area represents a specific example of Canada’s 39 natural regions or 29 marine regions. Parks Canada’s network of national parks and national marine conservation areas protects and presents the country’s exceptional biodiversity.

One of the ways Parks Canada contributes to conserving Canada’s biodiversity is through the recovery of species at risk, including planning, protection, direct recovery and educational programs. Almost half of the species at risk found in Canada are represented in our national parks and national marine conservation areas. The aim is to maintain or increase the biodiversity in Canada’s protected areas.

Parks Canada invites you to experience and enjoy Canada’s rich biodiversity. Visit a national park or national marine conservation area to connect with nature through a variety of activities including hiking, camping, sightseeing or canoeing. Parks Canada is committed to preserving biodiversity and will be planning events and activities throughout our national parks that feature Canada’s rich diversity.
